A brochure was created to celebrate and highlight the artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. Typography, texture, information layout, and craft were merged to mirror the essence of the artist's distinctive style. Fonts reminiscent of Basquiat's bold handwriting were meticulously chosen, infusing each letter with his famous sketchy and loose type. Texture became paramount, with layered backgrounds resembling weathered walls adorned with Basquiat's iconic graffiti motifs, adding depth and authenticity to the design, reflecting his past as a graffiti artist.
Careful attention was paid to the information layout, ensuring that every detail about Basquiat's life and work is presented cohesively and engagingly, as if he were editing the work himself. Every aspect of the brochure was crafted with intention, echoing Basquiat's own blend of spontaneity and meticulous execution, resulting in a tribute that captures the essence of his remarkable legacy.
The brochure is a 5x6 Double Gate Fold brochure printed on 66lb Inkjet photo paper.
